Far from fulfilling the promise of 'smarter' or more 'precise' warfare, both conflicts show how algorithmic systems speed up targeting, expand the list of people labeled as threats, and reduce the room for human judgment. The battlefield is increasingly shaped by data-fusion platforms that combine satellite images, drone footage, communications metadata, and behavioral signals. This, in turn, makes the providers of these technologies, often private companies like Palantir, a vital part of the overall decision-making infrastructure, blurring the line between military and commercial power.
